Based in Sydney, RUCAP is responsible for RUG’s activities in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, including producing, co-production and licensing.
RUCAP productions in Australia have included Aspects of Love, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sunset Boulevard, Cats and The Phantom of the Opera and most recently an original Australian production of Love Never Dies.
The RUCAP office presents work in Australia’s major capital cities on a regular basis and tours extensively throughout the Asia Pacific Region. International tours have included New Zealand, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, China as well as the Middle East, Athens, Scandinavia and Lebanon. In South Korea, the company has toured to six cities, beyond the capital of Seoul; in China CATStoured to 11 cities including Beijing and Shanghai, and in Taiwan the company has toured to Taiwan, and three regional centers.
In addition to touring English language productions, RUCAP has Co-produced Korean language productions of both CATS and The Phantom of the Opera, and in 2011 opened the first Mandarin production of CATS, which is currently touring China.
Licensed productions in Korea include Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, The Beautiful Game, Tell Me On A Sunday and The Boys in the Photograph.
