Ben trained at Leeds University and Guildford School of Acting.
Most recently he played Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard at the Watermill Theatre and Arnaud du Thil in Martin Guerre at the same venue. Other theatre credits include: Ross in Macbeth (Gale Theatre, Barbados), for which he also composed the music; Edward Ireton in Two Cities (Salisbury Playhouse); Juan in Murderous Instincts (Savoy Theatre); Damien in Old Big ’Ead in the Spirit of the Man (Nottingham Playhouse and UK tour); Sanders-Draper in The Good Intent and Tom in The Glass Menagerie (Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch); Charles B Cochrane in Over My Shoulder (Yvonne Arnaud Theatre); Paris in Romeo and Juliet, ensemble in Oh, What a Lovely War! and Amiens in As You Like It (Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park); Del Copeland and John Kelly in The Beautiful Game (Cambridge Theatre, London); Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar (UK and European tour); Horatio in Hamlet and Friar Francis in Much Ado About Nothing (Ludlow Festival); Inigo Jollifont in The Good Companions (Belgrade Theatre, Coventry); Dandini in Cinderella – The Panto With Soul (Theatr Clwyd); Balthazar in Much Ado About Nothing (Royal Exchange, Manchester); and ensemble in Kiss the Sky (Shepherds Bush Empire).
Television and film credits include: Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd (Dreamworks); The Somme: From Defeat to Victory (BBC); Trial and Retribution (BBC); London Bridge (Carlton) and Bugs (BBC).
Ben has also musically directed countless productions for theatres all over the UK and abroad. Recently he has been working as musical director for the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich on productions including Little Shop of Horrors and several rock’n’roll pantomimes.
