Charles Hart was born in 1961 and educated at Desborough School, Maidenhead and Robinson College, Cambridge where he graduated in Music.
He then went on to study Composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Dance, after which he worked for a time as a keyboard player and vocal coach in the West End.
His writing credits include two theme songs (music and lyrics) for Granada television (for the series Watching and Split Ends) and in musical theatre, The Phantom of the Opera (lyrics). His song cycle Love Songs (music and lyrics) has recently been recorded for the BBC.
