Theatre: Martin Jarvis is one of Britain’s most distinguished actors. He has starred in many award-winning West End and Royal National Theatre productions of plays by Sir Alan Ayckbourn (Woman in Mind, Henceforward., Just Between Ourselves) and Harold Pinter (Other Places, Precisely); as well as Frayn, Hare, Nichols, Shakespeare, Shaw, and Wilde. He has also worked extensively with Sir Peter Hall (The Importance of Being Earnest, Twelfth Night, On Approval). He has recently appeared at London’s Almeida Theatre (The Doctor’s Dilemma), Donmar Warehouse (Passion Play), and California’s South Coast Repertory (Skylight).
Film: Movies include the new British comedy Mrs. Caldicot’s Cabbage War (just completed), Titanic, Kid With X-Ray Eyes, Buster and the cult film Taste the Blood of Dracula.
Television: Lorna Doone, Inspector Morse, Touch of Frost, Murder She Wrote, Absence of War, Space Above and Beyond, Walker Texas Ranger, Lovejoy, David Copperfield, The Bunker, and The Forsyte Saga.
Book: His recent best-selling autobiography, Acting Strangely, is now published in the States.
He was awarded the OBE last year by the Queen for his services to drama.
