Put on a show!

The types of groups we generally licence to fall into two camps: Amateur or Professional. Amateur groups are considered to be those who do not pay their actors (e.g. academic schools and colleges, religious groups, amateur dramatic societies), whereas professional groups are considered to be those who employ either Equity or non-Equity actors who are paid.

Unfortunately, performance rights to shows are not automatically available. It is possible to obtain rights to perform some of our shows, for amateur or professional stage production; and the individual songs for concert use by obtaining a performance licence, subject to restrictions. However, some shows and songs are not available for performance; for example, some shows are currently being re-written (e.g. The Beautiful Game) and some have yet to be developed for third party production (e.g. Bombay Dreams).

Furthermore, rights can be withdrawn for a number of reasons; for instance, if a professional production is taking place in your area it is very possible that we would be unable to license other productions of the show.

It is therefore extremely important that you remember that you should not make any plans or preparations for a production until you have checked with the Music Licensing Department or one of our agents and have secured a performance licence!
