25 years of Cats in Japan!
An outstanding milestone in theatrical history as Cats celebrates in Tokyo
Tonight‘s performance of Cats at Tokyo‘s Cats Theater in Gotanda will mark the 25th anniversary of the musical in Japan.
In a special message to cast and crew Andrew Lloyd Webber said: “Omedetou gozaimasu to everyone involved with Cats in Japan. 25 years – what a fantastic achievement”.
The show premiered in 1983 with Akiko Kuno playing Grizabella and Takanori Yamamoto playing the part of Old Deuteronomy.
