Andrew attends auditions for Over The Rainbow in Manchester.

Last weekend hundreds of would-be Dorothy’s descended on Manchester for auditions for the BBC 1 show Over The Rainbow – Andrew’s search to find a leading lady for his upcoming West End production of The Wizard of Oz.The auditions were held at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium, giving Leyton Orient fan Andrew the chance to see what life is like at the top end of the football league! Our image shows Andrew outside Old Trafford as he kicked off the Manchester leg of his search – but Andrew made sure he was photographed in his choice of footballing colours, keeping his Leyton Orient scarf firmly round his neck rather than swap it for a Manchester United one…

He joked:  “I had to bring a bit of class to proceedings, I’m a Leyton Orient man and from that I shall be not swayed.”

Andrew added today: “Interestingly my remarks in Manchester coincided with the Os biggest win at home in living memory.  As all Os supporters know, we reel in late in the season but this time we are clearly heading for the championship!”
