New BBC TV programme announced to search for the star...
Andrew Lloyd Webber

Following the phenomenal success of How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, Andrew Lloyd Webber has chosen to begin a nationwide talent search for the leading cast members of the forthcoming production of  Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

Auditions for Any Dream Will Do will begin in key UK cities early next year and the show will broadcast in the summer. Any Dream Will Do will unite Andrew Lloyd Webber with host Graham Norton who, along with a panel of experts and the viewing public, will chose the next Joseph as well as casting several other lead roles in the West End show.

Andrew Lloyd Webber said: “The success of How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? this Summer was a real boost for musical theatre in Britain and I was particularly thrilled with the reaction from schoolchildren up and down the country. I cannot wait to get them involved in Any Dream Will Do and to get back into the studio with Graham. Joseph started in schools and I am looking for a great school choir – to play in the West End, we need a smashing girl, a great boy and of course a Pharoah/Elvis!”

The winner of How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, Connie Fisher has wowed West End audiences since opening in her debut in The Sound Of Music, in November and interest from the public has meant an extended run of six months.
