Last year, the world-famous London Palladium celebrated its centenary – and now you have a chance to get a glimpse of 100 years of theatre history as the Palladium’s exclusive guided tours, each lasting a minimum of two hours, continue into 2012.
The London Palladium opened on Boxing Day 1910 and since then has hosted Music Hall, Variety, Revue, Pantomime and spectacular musicals with equal success. Made famous worldwide through television’s Sunday Night at the London Palladium, it has also hosted more Royal Variety Performances than any other theatre.
With displays of memorabilia throughout the building celebrating its rich heritage and the major stars that have appeared on stage, the tour will also take in areas not usually open to the public as well as the new facilities and areas recently refurbished as part of the centenary celebrations. The route may vary according to the building’s daily activities and the walk will involve several long flights of stairs.
The 2012 London Palladium tours will take place at 11.30am on the second Friday of each month.
Each tour lasts a minimum of 2 hours. Tickets for the tour are £10. Total capacity per tour is 30 people. As there are lots of stairs, the tour is not recommended for the infirm and ladies are advised to wear flat shoes.
