Andrew Lloyd Webber’s spellbinding sequel to the phenomenal The Phantom of the Opera, LOVE NEVER DIES has recaptured hearts across the UK as it soared into the number one slot in the DVD music chart last week, where it has stayed ever since.   LOVE NEVER DIES was released on Blu-ray™ and DVD on Monday 12 March from Universal Pictures UK, coinciding with Mother’s Day.

Selling an impressive 37,000 copies in its launch week, the DVD also debuted at number 4 in the Top 200 DVD chart, up at the top of the chart alongside best-selling titles such as The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Jane Eyre, released on the same date.   LOVE NEVER DIES was the highest charting non-film DVD on release last week and the biggest selling music DVD released for Mother’s Day across the last four years.   It has also sold better than comparable music titles including Alfie Boe Live: The Bring Him Home Tour, also released on 12 March, which sold just over 13,000 copies in its first week. 

From musical theatre’s most captivating composer, the Blu-ray and DVD features the highly acclaimed new Australian production, filmed in Melbourne.   From theatre director Simon Phillips and with spectacular costume and set designs from Gabriela Tylesova, Love Never Dies is a dazzling production that takes audiences on a thrilling rollercoaster ride of intrigue, obsession and romance.

Described by Andrew Lloyd Webber as “one of the finest productions I’ve ever seen of my work, anywhere”, the Australian show features an impressive cast including highly praised musical actors Ben Lewis as the Phantom and Anna O’Byrne as his Christine.
