A capacity audience and a thunderous standing ovation kicked off preview performances of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s masterpiece Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular at The Venetian Resort Casino on Monday, 12th June.
Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular at The Venetian reunites Lloyd Webber, director Harold Prince, choreographer Gillian Lynne and others from the show’s original creative team, who together reconceived their show into a 95-minute wonder, leaving each and every song from the original production intact.
The opening night red carpet event is scheduled for 24th June.
The show’s Broadway-caliber cast, hand selected by Lloyd Webber, Prince and the entire creative team, features veteran performers Brent Barrett and Anthony Crivello sharing the title role.
By incorporating special effects and enhancement made possible by modern technology into the show’s timeless music and story, new audiences and loyal fans alike will be awed by an all-new Phantom. From the amazing sets, spectacular illusions, sophisticated pyrotechnics and a breathtaking chandelier experience unlike anything ever seen, Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular promises surprises that are only to be found in this all-new production.
In anticipation of opening Phantom for the first time ever in Las Vegas, The Venetian employed David Rockwell to create a state-of-the-art theatre designed to harmonize with the show’s original set design and serve to transport theatergoers to the famed Paris Opera House.
