Sound of Music Canada earns five award nominations  
The Canadian production of The Sound of Music receives five Dora Mavor Moore award nominations.

Toronto’s annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards honour the creators of over 200 theatre, dance and opera productions annually in five major categories.

The Toronto production of The Sound of Music, starring the winner of Canada’s How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? program Elicia MacKenzie as Maria, received 5 nominations in the General Theatre Production Division:

OUTSTANDING PRODUCTION OF A MUSICAL, Andrew Lloyd Webber, David Ian, David Mirvish.

OUTSTANDING DIRECTION OF A MUSICAL, Jeremy Sams.

OUTSTANDING SET DESIGN , Robert Jones.

OUTSTANDING MUSICAL DIRECTION, Jeffrey Huard.

OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY A FEMALE IN A PRINCIPAL ROLE, MUSICAL, Elicia MacKenzie.

Awarded by the Totonto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA), the 30th anniversary of the ‘Dora Awards’ takes place this year on June 29 2009.
