When we started on our How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? journey we never thought we might discover more than one winner. It is so pleasing to me that almost all the finalists from How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? and Any Dream Will Do have gone on to find work in professional theatre.
Connie won How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? and starred as Maria at the London Palladium until February 2008. She won the Best Newcomer at the London Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards (jointly with Andrew Garfield) and Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers’ Choice Awards London Newcomer of the Year.
Helena went on to star as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at the Leicester Haymarket and is currently starring as Nellie Forbush in the UK tour of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic South Pacific.
Siobhan is currently playing Patty in Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre. She is also the understudy to Sandy.
Abi starred in a revival of Tim Rice’s Blondel before going on to star as Serena Katz in the UK tour of Fame. Abi was also voted the 2007 Jewish woman of the year.
Aoife went on to play Roxy Hart in Chicago at the Cambridge Theatre. She is currently playing the role of Maria for two performances a week in The Sound of Music at the London Palladium. She is also set to star in forthcoming Danny Patrick film The Best Years.
Belinda went on to join the West End production of The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre.
Laura completed her scholarship MA course in Musical Theatre at the Mountview Theatre School.
Leanne starred alongside Marti Webb in Snow White at the Theatre Royal, Windsor last Christmas. She will shortly be appearing in A Rough Guide to Musicals at Jermyn Street Theatre.
Meliz returned to London’s Guildhall to complete her Masters in classical music and is now pursuing a career in showbusiness.
Simona has recently performed in the Carnival Messiah at Harewood House.
Lee won Any Dream Will Do and continues to play the lead role of Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Adelphi Theatre until June 2008.
Keith will be playing the Narrator in Bill Kenwright’s UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Ben landed a role in a West End production of The Music Of Dirty Dancing and from October 11th will play the role of Link Larkin in the West End production of Hairspray.
Craig is starring as Joseph in Bill Kenwright’s UK touring production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Craig is also a member of Dream On, a band formed by 5 of the finalists of Any Dream Will Do.
Lewis will stand-in for Lee as Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for 25 shows in 2008. In the meantime, Lewis will be touring as male lead in Chicago & Beyond, an anthology show covering all the great musicals. Lewis is also a member of Dream On, a band formed by 5 of the finalists of Any Dream Will Do.
Daniel is appearing as Austen Bennett in the UK production of gender-swapping musical I Love You Because! at the Landor Theatre in Clapham. In December he will be joining the cast of Avenue Q in the West End.
Rob will be appearing in Cinderella at the Sheffield Lyceum this Christmas.
Seamus is starring in Thriller Live! the UK and European tour of the Michael Jackson and Jackson 5 story. Seamus and his band Mosquito are also recording a new album.
Johndeep will be playing the role of Dandini in Cinderella at the Theatre Royal, Windsor this Christmas.

Chris is currently starring alongside Gary Wilmott in the UK touring production of Half a Sixpence. Chris will also be starring as Prince Charming in Cinderella at Windsor this Christmas. Chris is also a member of Dream On, a band formed by 5 of the finalists of Any Dream Will Do.
