Indhu Rubasingham graduated from Hull University with a BA (Hons) in Drama.
Theatre: For Chichester Festival Theatre: The Misanthrope, The Secret Rapture by David Hare; for the Royal Court: Roy Williams’ Lift Off winner of the George Devine award, Clubland winner of the Evening Standard award 2001 and The Crutch by Ruwanthie deChikera; for the Royal National Theatre: The Waiting Room by Tanika Gupta (Cottesloe), The Ramayana (Olivier); as an associate director at Birmingham Repertory Indhu Rubasingham directed Time of Fire by Charles Mulekwa, the original production of The Ramayana and Kaahini by Maya Chowdary; for Theatre Royal, Stratford East: Party Girls by Debbie Plentie, No Boys’ Cricket Club by Roy Williams, D’Yer Eat With Yer Fingers?, D’Yer Eat With Yer Fingers – The Remix; for the Gate Theatre: Sugar Dollies by Klaus Chatten, Shakuntala adapted by Peter Oswald. Other work includes Starstruck by Roy Williams (Tricycle Theatre); A Doll’s House (Young Vic Studio); co-production with RNT studio of A River Sutra (Three Mill Island Studios); Voices On the Wind by Tanika Gupta (RNT Studio).
Awards : In 1996, Indhu Rubasingham took the Karabe award to be an associate director at the Gate Theatre.
