Anthony Van Laast trained at the London School of Contemporary Dance, later joining the Company as both performer and choreographer.

 

Theatre : Mamma Mia! (worldwide – Dora Mavor award and Helpman award nomination); Jesus Christ Superstar (UK and European tour and Broadway); Whistle Down the Wind (London); Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (worldwide - Laurence Olivier award nomination, Dramalogue award); Song & Dance (worldwide - Green Room award, Australia); Blondel; The Hired Man; Radio Times; Annie Get Your Gun; A Little Night Music; Hair (Laurence Olivier award nomination); Into the Woods, My Fair Lady (USA tour) and The Boy From Oz (Australia – Helpman award nomination). For the Royal Shakespeare Company: The Maid’s Tragedy, Peer Gynt, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Camille, Romeo & Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Beggar’s Opera (Laurence Olivier award nomination).

In 1999 Anthony Van Laast was awarded the MBE for Services to Dance and Choreography.
