Ken Wells

SKIMBLESHANKS

K enn Wells trained as a dancer in his native South Africa and came to Britain in 1968 joining Western Theatre Ballet (later the Scottish Ballet Company). In 1971 he joined London Festival Ballet and as a Principal Artist has been acclaimed for his fine portrayals of roles including Mercutio in Nureyev’s production of Romeo and Juliet also working with and dancing Massine’s roles in Le Tricorne, Garte Parisienne and Parade. IN the modern repertoire he created most notably the role of the Master of Ceremonies in Moreland’s Prodigal Son in Ragtime. He has also appeared in many television dance programmes.
