Maree Johnson (Guest)

GRIZABELLA

In 1998 Maree was the winner of the Sydney Cabaret Convention and was invited to perform in the New York Convention. Since then Maree has performed at venues throughout Australia and in New York. Maree's theatrical credits include Les Miserables (Cameron Mackintosh), Christine Daae in the Sydney season of The Phantom of the Opera (Cameron Mackintosh), lsabel Helen in Scrooge (Princess Theatre Production), Maria in West Side Story (international Management Group and the Victoria State Opera) and Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady (IMG and VSO). A wide variety of concert performances have also been a highlight of Maree's career, these include starring in two productions of Stephen Sondheim's Follies (Melbourne International Festival and the Sydney Opera House/Mardi Gras Festival), Sondheim's You're Gonna Love Tomorrow (Sydney Opera House/Mardi Gras Festival), Australia Day Concert at Darling Harbour, Twilight Concerts at Sydney's Taronga Park Zoo and Christmas Carols in the Domain and Darling Harbour. Regular television performances include Good Morning Australia and The Midday Show. Maree now lives in New York and is delighted to have returned to Australia to play Grizabella in the current touring production of CATS.
