Amanda Courtney-Davies

 

Apache Dancer

 

Amanda was born in Manchester. She trained at Elmhurst Ballet School and is a graduate of The Royal Ballet School Teachers’ Training Course. She is also a Gold Medallist of the Adeline Genée Competition, which was held at the Palace Theatre in 1983. Her professional debut was with Oldham Repertory Theatre as Adele in Jane Eyre. She also enjoys travelling and her first musical, Singin’ in the Rain with Tommy Steele, culminated with a month in Tokyo. She has recently returned from the European tour with Souls in Motion. In the West End, Amanda has played the role of the White Cat in Cats and also understudied and played the ‘Mad Tapping’ Gumbie Cat, The Jazz Lady in Song and Dance (Shaftesbury Theatre), and Galas including Hello, Dolly! partnering Wayne Sleep, The Rink, Mack and Mabel and the Queen Mother’s 90th Birthday Celebration.
