Training: James graduated from GSA Conservatoire in 2005 (first class honours). Prior to this he trained with the National Youth Music Theatre.

Theatre includes: Ru in Merrily We Roll Along (Derby Playhouse), Crow in The Wizard of Oz (RSC version, West Yorkshire Playhouse), Marcel in The Boy Friend, Peaseblossom in A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Haberdasher in The Taming of the Shrew (Regent’s Park Open Air), Topper in Scrooge the Musical (tour), Airman Clarke in Into Thin Air! (New Players, London), Buddy Foster in Side Show (UK premiere, Guildford Yvonne Arnaud and Electric) and PC Ping Pong in Aladdin (Guildford Yvonne Arnaud).

Other theatre includes: The Dreaming and Pendragon (NYMT, UK and Japan). Workshops include: Moon Landing (Derby Playhouse), Toys – A New Musical (Milton Morrissey Productions) and Willy Wonka the Musical (Music Theatre International). James was a guest performer at The Queen’s 80th Birthday.

Television includes: Policeman in Waking the Dead.

Recordings include: Julian in The Dreaming (NYMT).
