Richard Calkin

 

Pharaoh

 

Richard was born in Wolverhampton and studied dance and drama at Pattisons College, Coventry. After some cabaret work in Cannes, Portugal and Miami he returned to Britain. Theatre work includes 42nd Street (original London company), Kiss Me Kate (Gremio, lover to Lucentio) and Budgie (Rinaldo). Television work includes: The Royal Variety Show (1984/85), Grace Kennedy, The Stanley Baxter Show, Little and Large, and The Rory Bremner Show. He also performed on The Russ Abbot Show (Autumn 1989) and has appeared in several television commercials. He can be seen in the film Gunbus.

 

Richard was in the Alan Boubil/Claude-Michel Schönberg musical Miss Saigon at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane for a long run, and before joining the cast of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Richard could be seen in the ensemble of Matador at the Queen’s Theatre, where he also understudied the leading role.
