Steven Pimlott

 

Director

 

Steven Pimlott has directed, for the Royal National Theatre, Moliere's The Miser and Sondheim's Sunday in the Park with George - nominated for an Olivier Award. For the Royal Shakespeare Company Julius Caesar and Murder in the Cathedral and a new play by Michael Hastings Unfinished Business. For English National Opera La Boheme. His arena production of Carmen has been seen in London, Dortmund, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney with further productions planned in Zurich and Munich. He was nominated for an Olivier Award for this production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the West End, currently playing on Broadway and touring the UK. He has directed more than thirty productions of opera in the UK, Germany, Austria, Australia and Israel. Other musical productions include the British premiere of Carmen Jones and a revival of Carousel.
