Theatre includes: his first job as part of the stage management team with a newly formed company called Stage Sixty that was working out of the Theatre Royal, Stratford East, followed by a period touring with a wide variety of shows. He joined the National Theatre Company at the Old Vic, under the artistic directorship of Laurence Olivier, as part of the production office and worked on over 50 productions during seven years. He covered the move into the new building on the South Bank, working as production manager for the Olivier Theatre. He left the National to set up The Production Office, offering production management and technical services to commercial producers, and worked on some of London ’s leading musicals including: Cats, Starlight Express, They’re Playing Our Song and Mutiny. He returned to the NT as technical director for a short period when Richard Eyre was made artistic director. Subsequently, in the West End, shows include: Crazy for You, Jesus Christ Superstar, Whistle Down the Wind, Saturday Night Fever, The King and I, Fosse, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Bombay Dreams, Matthew Bourne’s Nutcracker, Absolutely! {perhaps}, Evita, Wicked, The Sound of Music and Bad Girls – The Musical.
