Stuart Calvert

 

Associate Musical Director

 

Training: Stuart Calvert comes from Nova Scotia, Canada, where he received his early musical training. He attended the Columbus Boychoir School, Princeton, New Jersey, and is a graduate of Brandon University, Manitoba, Canada.

 

Theatre includes: On tour, he has conducted Chess (UK), South Pacific (Tokyo, Osaka, Japan), Les Misérables (UK and Ireland), Joseph (UK and Ireland), Cats (UK), Miss Saigon (UK and Lisbon) and Chicago (UK). He was the musical director for the 1998 Leicester Haymarket production of Singin’ in the Rain and in 2002 was musical director for part of the USA tour of Riverdance (Virginia, Michigan and Chicago). In the West End, Stuart has conducted Brigadoon, Sunset Boulevard, Martin Guerre, Show Boat, Miss Saigon, Cats and The Producers. He is currently artistic director of the Showbiz Pops Orchestra.

 

Other work includes: Stuart has composed music for BBC TV and his arrangements have been performed or recorded by artists as diverse as Andy Williams and The Bach Choir, London.
