Having pioneered television casting with How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? on the BBC, Andrew Lloyd Webber fulfilled a long-held ambition when the 2006 production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic opened at the London Palladium, with Connie Fisher in the leading role. The Sound of Music is the world's favourite musical, and one which Andrew wanted to produce, having been invited by Richard Rodgers to attend one of the dress rehearsals for the original London production.
