Don Black

Book and Lyrics

 

Don Black won the 1995 Tony Awards for Best Score and Best Book of a Musical for his work on Sunset Boulevard. He previously collaborated with Andrew Lloyd Webber on Song & Dance and Aspects of Love. Other songs written together include the Olympic Games theme "Amigos Para Siempre" (for Sarah Brightman and Jose Carreras) and "Next Time You Fall in Love" (Starlight Express). His many popular song hits include Michael Jackson's "Ben"; "To Sir With Love"; "Born Free"; and a trio of James Bond film title songs. He has won an Oscar, five Academy Award nominations, three Tony Award nominations, a Golden Globe and numerous platinum, gold and silver records.
