Glenn Close has appeared on Broadway in Benefactors, Barnum (Tony nominated) The Cricifer of Blood, Rex, Love for Love, The Member of the Wedding, Rules of the Game as well as The Real Thing and Death and the Maiden, for which she won Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Play. Her Off-Broadway credits include Uncommon Women and Others, Joan of Arc at the Stake, Childhood and The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs, for which she received the Obie Award. She made her Los Angeles stage debut in Barnum at the Pantages Theatre and was last seen in Los Angeles under the direction of James L Brooks in Brooklyn Laundry. The first of her five Academy Award nominations came for her film debut in The World According to Garp. She was also nominated for The Big Chill and The Natural, all in the Supporting category, with Best Actress nominations for Fatal Attraction and Dangerous Liaisons. Her other films include The Stone Boy, Maxie, Jagged Edge, Immediate Family, Reversal of Fortune, Hamlet and Meeting Venus. She will be seen next year in Billie August’s The House of Spirits and Ron Howard’s The Paper. For her television work she won Best Actress Emmy Award nominations for Something About Amelia and Hallmark Hall of Fame’s Sarah Plain and Tall and it’s sequel Skylark. She was Co-Executive Producer for both Sarah Plain and Tall and Skylark and has also Co-Executive produced the documentary Broken Hearts, Broken Homes for Lifetime and associate produced Do You Mean There Are Still Real Cowboys? seen on the American Experience Series on PBS. As Co-Executive Producer of Sarah, Plain and Tall, Ms Close received a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for Best Made for Television Movie.
