Charlotte Jones
Book
Charlotte Jones read English at Balliol College, Oxford before training as an actress. She worked for six years as an actress in theatre and television before turning to writing. Charlotte is currently under commission to the Royal Court Theatre.

Television: Bessie and the Bell for The First Signs of Madness series (Carlton Television); Mother’s Ruin (commission for Carlton Television).

Awards: Charlotte has won several awards including for Humble Boy the 2001 Critics’ Circle award for Best New Play, The Susan Smith Blackburn award for Best New Play, 2000; Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Play 2003-4; Olivier nomination for Best New Play; Whatsonstage.com People’s Choice award for Best New Play 2001 .Charlotte also won the Critics’ Circle Most Promising Playwright award 1999 for In Flame and Martha, Josie and the Chinese Elvis .Martha, Josie and the Chinese Elvis also won the Pearson Television Best Play award for 1998 and Manchester Evening News Best New Play for 1999. Bessie and the Bell was also featured at the New York Film & TV Festival where it won a Gold Award. It also achieved a Platinum Award at WorldFest Houston and a Bronze Plaque 2002 at The Columbus International Film & Video Festival .The Sound of Solitary Waves was nominated for The Sony Award for Best Drama 2004.
