Salaam Bombay Dreams, which was released in 2003, is an exclusive look behind the scenes of Bombay Dreams. This ‘making of’ documentary includes footage and interviews with the team behind the West End show.

From Madras and Mumbai and back to London, Salaam Bombay Dreams follows the producer and key members of the cast and creative team as they work on bringing together the lavish production that is Bombay Dreams. Giving viewers a glimpse into the world of composer A R Rahman, the documentary also demonstrates the show’s magnificent sets, glittering costumes, choreography, script writing and lyrics, through interviews with figures including Meera Syal, Don Black, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Anthony Van Laast, Farah Khan, Stephen Pimlott and Mark Thompson.

Salaam Bombay Dreams charts the show’s progress from rehearsal through to opening night, including a Gala Performance with a visit by Her Majesty the Queen.

The DVD also features the sights and sounds of the show.
