Originally released as record and broadcast on BBC Television with Marti Webb, this song cycle, with lyrics by Don Black, tells the story of the loves and losses of a single British girl in Los Angeles through the letters she sends home. It was updated in 2003 for a West end run starring Denise Van Outen.
